The entire country had a high solar generation forecast, but the day turned out far cloudier than expected. The local area however still has a lot of generation in parts, but little in other parts.
Impact: Co-located (no extra capacity)
Cannot fully charge from local generation — insufficient solar output. If held for a CSC discharge during evening peak, it cannot deliver.
Impact: Standalone (no CBC restriction)
Receives a national incentive to discharge during the day. But some local solar is still producing — causing a local grid overload if it acts on the national signal.
Impact: Passive imbalance trading players
High up-regulation imbalance prices during the day — tempting to discharge, but doing so in a congested local area worsens the grid situation.
